North Beacon Church of the Nazarene

What we believe

The historic Christian faith, anchored in Scripture.

These are the doctrinal convictions that shape every part of life at North Beacon Church of the Nazarene. Each is rooted in Scripture — God's word being the foundation of everything we do.

  1. 01

    The Bible

The Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living

  2. 02

    God

We believe in one God—the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  3. 03

    Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, ascended to the Father, and will one day return.

  4. 04

    The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer at the moment of salvation, empowering us to live for God, grow in Christlikeness, and serve the church and world. That the Holy Spirit bears witness to the new birth, and also to the entire sanctification of believers.

  5. 05

    Humanity

That human beings are born with a fallen nature, and are, therefore, inclined to evil, and that continually. That the finally impenitent are hopelessly and eternally lost.

  6. 06

    Salvation

We believe that the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race; and that whosoever repents and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ is justified and regenerated and saved from the dominion of sin.

  7. 07

    Sanctification

We believe that believers are to be sanctified wholly, subsequent to regeneration, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

  8. 08

    The Return of Christ

We believe that our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final judgment will take place.

The longer version.

The statements above are how we summarize our convictions on the public site. We'd be happy to send you our longer Statement of Faith, the church covenant, or our bylaws — and to talk through any of it over coffee.
